Grammy Fashion Flash 2007

Nude colors. Subdued styles. That pretty much sums of this year's Grammys.

She's your Dreamgirl. Beyonce wore a champagne-colored strapless dress by Giorgio Armani Prive with crystals on the bustline and waistline.

Ain't no other man, can't pull it off like Christina Aguilera! Christina Aguilera looks elegant in an Ungaro white strapless gown with purple trim around the bust and a beige ribbon around her waist.

I was never a fan of her style choices but this time, Vanessa Minnillo blew me away with this shimmery silver mini dress! It's uber-cute!

This is no family affair. Mary J. Blige looked classy in Michael Kors' nude-colored, V-neck beaded gown with a metallic belt. According to the star herself, "I had this plan for about three months. I walked into a Michael Kors store, and Michael Kors' mother was there, Joan Kors, and she was having a trunk show and there were models there. And I saw the dress and said put that dress on that model. The model was built and shaped like me. I said that's my Grammy dress. Put it on hold." So now you know.

Here's a secret: I am infatuated with Scarlett Johansson. Doesn't she look absolutely gorgeous as a Grammys presenter? She wore a navy-and-black cocktail dress with a fitted corset by Monique Lhuillier.

Nelly Furtado is one hot mama. She look fabulous in this itsy-bitsy white and gold cocktail gown by Roberto Cavalli although some fashion critics have said otherwise.

I love her songs but I'm not such a fan of her... err, individuality thing. Imogen Heap says, "A fabulous designer from Los Angeles got in touch with me via MySpace asking me if she could make my Grammy dress, and this is what happened." Haha, this woman has a sense of humour - that's how she earned the final spot on this Grammys entry.

V-Day: Scent of a Woman

V-Day is just around the corner. Whether you're single or happily attached to your boy, let's celebrate the power of L-O-V-E. According to this month's feature article in Reader's Digest, the most powerful attractant of all - is invisible. To scientifically illustrate it (from RD), we are lured to individuals whose immune system varies from our own, as it confers an evolutionary advantage on any offspring. And the way to do this is to sniff it out.

In the fashionista terms, there is a link between the scent of a woman or a man and 'mate selection'. Besides, it's also a subtle way to vibe your personality besides smelling great. To make sure you're giving out the right scent to the opposite sex, here's a list of fragrances that might help you snag that hottie for V-Day (and every other day):

Note: This list is created from extensive Internet research and online votes! (and you won't find Chanel No. 5 on the list - too bold for my liking)

For the Tropical Babes

Estee Lauder's Pleasure Exotic
This is my staple scent and it's first on the list, hehe. Let this tropical delight tempt you with its sparkling blend of exotic fruits and shimmering flowers. This delicious fragrance is a fusion of mango passion fruit cocktail, juicy citrus fruits and watery lychee combined with island bamboo flowers, orangeblossom and dewy bougainvillea vine.

For the Sensual Ladies

Calvin Klein's Euphoria
A crowd favorite! The scent has top notes of pomegranate, persimmon and lush green accord; a heart of dewy lotus blossom, champaca flower and black orchid, and a drydown of liquid amber, black violet, cream accord and mahogany wood.

For the Charming Individual

Burberry Brit by Burberry for Women
The Brit girl embodies the playful British spirit of individuality. She's outrageous, but always charming and unpredictably sexy. Fresh and playful, the fragrance is a classic, green-oriental blend of lush fruits, sweet nutty essences, and soothing amber, vanilla, and Tonka bean.

For the Happy Bunny

Clinique's Happy In Bloom
From the raging success of Clinique's Happy, here comes the new fragrance from the same line. Happy in Bloom ...a fresh floral. It features the floral heart of the original Happy, teamed with chilled, watery notes designed to evoke frosty mornings and dew-laden flowers, according to Clinique. Key ingredients include yellow plum, muguet, white freesia, mimosa and white wood.

For the Pretty Princess

Vera Wang's Princess
Created for the playful, unpredictable, independent woman who treats every day like an event and adventure. This is a woman who likes to make her own magic, this sheer, flirty blend of water lily, lady apple, mandarin meringue, and golden apricot skin are melded with sheer floral notes, accented with dark chocolate, and finished with a pink frosting accord, amber, warm woods, musk, and vanilla - a whimsical treat.

For the Temptress

DKNY's Red Delicious
DKNY introduces a second bite of temptation with a new, limited-edition scent. Aptly named DKNY Red Delicious, this sexy fragrance is a bit more daring, a bit more tantalizing - completely irresistible.A glittering champagne accord shimmers with exotic lychee, while red raspberry flirtatiously mingles with crisp apple. The heart intensifies with rich, velvety rose combined with lush notes of drenched violet petals, evolving to a rich, sensual blend of vanilla bean crushed with warm patchouli and a luminous amber note. Capping off the sultry experience, a sensual skin accord mixes with raspberry for a soft kiss of sweetness.

For the Anybody, Everybody

Calvin Klein's One
After so many years, you can't go wrong with this. cK One is a naturally clean, pure, and contemporary fragrance with a refreshingly new point of view. This light, relaxed scent is meant to be used lavishly. cK One Eau de Toilette can literally be splashed all over the body. It is an intimate fragrance, one that you need to be near to smell.

Beauties @ 2007 SAG Awards

No surpises at this year's Screen Actors Guild Awards. It's almost like a Golden Globes dejavu, haha. Here are the lovelies of the night:

Katherine Heigl looks stunning in this red number. The styling suits her beautifully. That night, she's a winner like her hit show, Grey's Anatomy.

Cate Blanchett steals the red carpet limelight by looking simply divine. The shimmery dress fits her perfectly, and I adore that vintage lookin' necklace.

The Devil doesn't wear Prada. Anne Hathaway wears this lovely black layered dress with a rosette in the bust front (of course, you can't see it here!). Trust me, it's hot.

My favourite girl from Ugly Betty, Becki Newton is uber-cute in this red bustier dress! I wish I look half as hot as her and we want her clothes from the show!

Ellen Pompeo stands out with this gorgeous purplish, greyish dress with a little Rome-feel to it. I personally like it very much.

My supposed-lookalike, Rinko Kikuchi from the fame of 'Babel'. This tutu-like dress has a dark, goth underlying look yet she pulled it off in such a cutesy way. I've to root for my twin, no?

The newly single Reese Witherspoon looks amazing in this sparkly grey dress. This woman has never look any less stylish in her career.

She's no Desperate Housewife. She's in fact, the coolest mama around - Mary-Louise Parker looks like a female version of the Michelin man. Haha, okay, it's cute but I don't think it does any justice to her figure. She's a lovely woman and a wonderful actress. Just not crazy about the dress.

The Golden Couple! Demi Moore looks sensational in this blue hot dress! Her hair looks gorgeous and her makeup is flawless. She brought along her handsome accessory as well, Ashton Kutcher. Grins.

Diesel Spring/Summer 2007 Ads

I saw these beautifully shot Ad campaigns from Diesel in a magazine recently was in love with the concept. Now fabsugar.com has stated that this season they (Diesel) decided to take the social commentary angle. Shot by Terry Richardson, the ads feature everyday scenes that have been drastically altered due to rising temperatures and seas.

Diesel has always been pretty provocative in their ads and this time, it's no different. I applaud the direction to take these Ads to reflect on what is going on in Today's World. Of course, the juxtaposition of images - as in what seems to be New York City under siege of a flood, the Great Wall of China covered in Sand, makes for great photos and a sure distraction when one is bombarded with so many Ads in a magazine.

I want to see these Ads on Billboards everywhere, Diesel, are you listening?

LG unveils Prada Mobile Phone

South Korea's LG Electronics has teamed up with Italy's high-end apparel and accessories manufacturer - PRADA - to produce an equally high-end phone.

PRADA's president and CEO Patrizio Bertelli announced that the two companies were looking to develop a "break-through."

Rather than adding the PRADA brand name to an existing product, Bertelli explained that the two companies worked together to give their new phone a "very strong character and unique style, both in its contents and in its design."

The PRADA Phone by LG plays music and videos on a wide, LCD touchscreen. It has a 2-megapixel camera, eight megabytes of internal memory. It has no keyboards and comes with a screen protector, and it's very own PRADA leather case holder.

I love the sleekness of the phone and the fact that it's rumored to be giving Apple's iPhone a run for their money.

The LG PRADA phone will retail at about 600 Euros and will be launched in Europe in Late Feburary 2007, in Korea in the second quarter of 2007, and all other Asian countries in late March 2007. No word yet on the launch in the United States as of yet.

Black Nail Polish: When Goth Goes Glam

Black is definitely back. For nails, at least. This might be a lil' outdated but hey, I just caught on to the black nail polish bug. I haven't sported black nails since my supposed emo rock days. Now, all the rage is for Chanel's limited edition Black Satin #219. However, this chic and sophistication beauty craze has gone a wee bit too far - prices have rocketed on eBay and there's even a waiting list for this cute bottle of black varnish. It's the hit sequel to Chanel's Vamp polish when Karl Lagerfield showed models sporting dark varnish in 1994.

NY Magazine has an interesting article about the Black Nail Polish: A Brief History. As a Chinese myself, I never knew black polish was meant for royalty back in the ol' days. Interesting piece of trivia.

This trend is definitely one of the biggest comebacks in 2006. And, it's gonna linger for a little while in Spring '07. I'm thrilled as black nails are no longer meant for goths and bad girls, but it's fabulous accessory that goes well with white frocks, tan skin, denim and the list goes on! Trend-setters like Lindsay Lohan and Jessica Alba were seen spotting with black nails (and even chipped ones - with Lindsay!).

Off The Rack also gives a few tipsters on 'How to Get Black Nails like Jessica'. Read on:

1. Black polish looks best on short, square nails. Go too long or too pointy, and you look more like Elvira than fashionista.

2. Chips in dark polish are much more apparent. A protective top coat will help keeping your digits look perfect.

3. To get the color consistent across your nail, try 2-3 coats over a good basecoat. One coat will end up looking too streaky.

4. If you don't feel like breaking the bank for the Chanel Black polish.

5. If black is a little too dramatic for you, try a dark red or a deep plum.

If Black is not your style, you can go for dark varnishes like Mischa and Jessica. They look fab and chic as well.

As Mara Taskin says, "Black nail polish is like the French manicure of last season"

bebe names Rebecca Romijin as the new face

I think that bebe is definitely trying to rebrand their image,to cater to an older female demographic. They recently signed on Eva Longoria as the face of bebe sport and now they have switched to Rebecca Romijin to represent their label for Summer 2007, dropping Mischa Barton. Can't wait to see the new ads.

Rebecca Romijin

Eva Longoria wearing bebe with Ken Paves and Jessica Simpson

Lindsay Lohan for Miu Miu

We are a little late to report but our favorite redhead is the new face of fashion label Miu Miu. Some fab pictures below. I am feeling the "doll like" look of the ads. She looks way better than a Barbie!

And we wish Lindsay all the best during her rehab stay. Sober is the new cool, Lindsay!

Golden Visions

The Golden Globes 2007 were on Jan 15th and boy, were there lovely ladies in attendance?! Here is a list of who's hot and who needs a new stylist.

Jennifer Lopez glowed on the red carpet with flawless skin, hair and a one shouldered Marchesa gown.

Our favorite "Betty" of all time - shines on the red carpet in a blue Brian Reyes number.

Black is always a great choice for any red carpet events and Hilary swank goes for gold in this Chanel couture number.

A lot of ladies wore gold but Reese was the only one who got the look just right. If you are wearing a loud color, don't let it overwhelm you, like Reese Witherspoon.

Jennifer Garner shimmers in a vintage Gaultier gown.

Kate Beckinsale is stunning in a white Christian Dior Gown.

Easy ladies, we know he's single but there is no need to grab.
Sheryl crow in Elie Saab and Eva Longoria in Marchesa, cozies up with Justin Timberlake.

I would tell you the designer that designed Beyonce's gown, but I'm too afraid you'd go out there and get the gown, so I'm gonna keep mum. Oh Beyonce, that J-Lo look was so 4 years ago.

Dear Cameron, I think this dress would look good on a 5 year old pagent contestent. However, you are no longer 5 and you should fire whoever that advised you to wear this.

And here are some couples too cute for words:

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt

The new Bennifer - Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner.

Tell us if you love or hate the outfits!!!

Sporty Goes Chic

Call it, fashion revolution. Designers have geared up with reinventions for the sporting world. This spring, get ready for stylish hoodies, anoraks, track pants and T-shirt dresses de rigueur - add a little style to your sports wear collection. Stella McCartney's Adidas collection is so 2006. Here are some sporty chic looks from the runway:

What's sports wear without a hoodie? Jean Paul Gaultier's bold and contrasting colors sets the standard for this Spring's collection. This is definitely my favourite and shirt dresses? I love it.

I absolutely heart this. Marni's tunic paired with cropped leggings, how ingenious. It stretches the boundaries of sporting style. Time to let your imagination run wild.

Yo dawg. DKNY's t-shirt dress has 'casual' and 'comfort' written all over it. Go logos! Nice laced up shoes, as well.

Inspired by the Ballerina, Vera Wang maintains the feminity in this design. The model looks so docile.

Be bold with this electrifying green wrap jacket by Dries Van Noten.

We want more hoodies! This shimmery silver hoodie by Felipe Oliveira Baptista expands its function from casual to something more. I could wear this to a party.
